    ALVAN HYDE TURNER died at his residence in New York City, March 9, 1867. He was from Salisbury, Conn., and studied medicine both in New York and New Haven.

    In 1855 he was a practitioner of medicine in Monterey, Mass.

    ... Funeral of Alvin H. Turner, G.W.P.S. of T.
    The funeral of the late Alvin H. Turner [sic], M. D., Grand Worthy Patriarch of the Sons of Temperance and of the State of New-York, is announced to take place to-day at 1 o'clock, from the Spring-street Baptist Church. The deceased joined the Order of the Son of Temperance in the year 1861, connecting himself with Marshall Division of this City, over which he ??? tore in terms as worthy patriarch. He was elected to the Grand Division in 1863, and chosen as the presiding officer of that body scarcely six month ago. He was also sleeted recently a Grand Worthy Patron of the Cadet of Temperance, and was a prominent member of the City Bible Society. The member of the Grand Division 8. of T. of Eastern New-York, and of Marshall Division No. IL 8. of T and the Order generally; also, the Cadet of Temperance are requested to meet at the hall. ...
