Adam came over from Germany with his family in 1738 where they settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania, along with the Buzzards and Alts. Berks County appears to be where Adam grew up and married his wife Marie Barbara Fischer 9 Jun 1754 in Host Church, Berks County. Some time in the next decade there was a movement abroad among the German colonist in Berks to move even futher west. In the late 1760's Adam and his friend Henry Buzzard and their families decided to head to the vicinity of Lord Fairfax South Branch Manor in Hampshire County, Virginia. Hampshire County was divided in 1786, the southern half, where the Radabaughs resided become HARDY COUNTY Virginia. It became a part of West Virginia when it became a state in 1863.
