Nathaniel Chauncey's brother Isaac had returned to England some years earlier and there appears to have been no other Isaac Chauncey in New England old enough to be father of a child born in 1677. The tentative conclusion is that the Colonial Record identifying "Isack" as the father of the Abigail forn 14 October 1677 was in error regarding her father.
