Image Information
This photo is an example of the extended gatherings that took place regularly at the farm of Samuel L. and Nettie (Louth) Savidge on West Union Road, outside of Spencerville. Across the road from the Savidge farm lived the widow, Rachel (Rigdon) Reynolds. Her son, Edward, married Gladys, Samuel and Nettie's eldest child. Her daughter, Rose, married a George Miller. Their sons, Lloyd and Walter Miller, are pictured here with Earl, a son of Samuel and Nettie. Lloyd (wearing hat)had an administrative position at Buckeye Pipeline in Lima. He made it possible for two extended family members, Paul Ashton, husband of Violet Reynolds, a granddaughter of Samuel and Nettie, and John Medaugh, Paul Ashton's son-in-law, to be hired by Buckeye Pipeline at a times when good paying jobs were very difficult to come by. Earl Savidge worked as a welder in Texas per Violet. rc File historyLegend: (cur) = this is the current file, (del) = delete
