The causalties are:

KILLED IN ACTION

Although there were no details in the telegram, Sergent Tuttle's family presumes he was killed in the drive on Metz, which Lt. Gen. George S. Sergeant Tuttle, served in the Fourth Armored division of the Third Army.

Sergeant Tuttle, who leaves a four-months-old daughter, Carolyn Anita, whom he had never seen, entered the service Feb. 18, 1942 and was assigned overseas in December, 1943. His last visit home was during the Chrsitmas holiday season a year ago. He went into France shortly after D-day, fought in the Battle of St. Lo and was with General Patton's forces on the push toward the Rhine.

The sergeant's wife received a letter from him last Friday and his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Case, this city, received a letter yesterday. In both he said he was well and expressed a hope that his war service would be over for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons of 1945.

Sergeant Tuttle was born in Haverhill and attended the public grammar schools and Haverhill High school. Since his marriage a few years ago he has been residing in Exeter and was employed in that town when he entered the service.

Besides his wife and daughter, parents and sister, Sergent Tuttle leaves a brother, Lt. Perley Tuttle, U.S.A.A.F., now with Maj. Gen. Clair Chennault's 14th Air Forces in China.
