- Note: the existence of many Court records in Rockbridge and Greenbrier County AFTER the celebrated Battle of Point Pleasant in 1774 prove that Thomas McClung did NOT die in the battle. McClung researchers are working to correct the record in spite of recent published accounts claiming otherwise.
