The 12th October 1901, appeared before me, Official of the Burgerlijken Stand of gemeente Ferwerderadeel, in public, in townhall, to the purpose of marriage, Johannes Swart, 24 years old, laborer, living in Ferwerd, adult son of Gerrit Sijtses Swart, gardener, Dirkje Johannes de Vries, without occupation, spouses, living in Ferwerd, on the one side; and Minke Talma, 27 years old, maid, born in Rinsumageest, living in Ferwerd, adult daughter of Meindert Klazes Talma, cow milker, and Sijtske Klases Uitterdijk, without occupation, spouses, living in Rinsumageest, on the other side.

The proclamation of this intended marriage has taken place without obstacle on Sundays the 19th September and 6th, October of this year. And to this purpose they have presented their certificates of birth, the mutual parents, hereby present, having declared to give their consent to this marriage.

After the prospective spouses had declared to take each other for spouses and to faithfully conduct all duties, by law imposed upon the state of marriage, it has been declared by me, in the name of the law that they are bound by matrimony; such in the presence of Anne Feenstra, brother-in-law to the groom, 28 years old, laborer, living in Ferwerd, Jan Cuperus, 24 years old, laborer, living in Ferwerd, brother-in-law to the groom, Geert Siccama, 36 years old, clerk, living in Ferwerd, and Johannes Bernardus Huijser, 28 years old, police officer, living in Ferwerd.

Of this I have drawn up this certificate and after having read it with the appearer and the witnesses signed.
