Military funeral services were held for James Herman Lacy in San Diego, California, by Chaplin S B Bennett, USS Holand of the Methodist Church, on June 2nd, and the body was then escorted by E B McPhalin, CCNUSS Melville, Sand Diego, to Clarkton, and to the home of a sister, Mrs. W. E. Tomlinson at Holcomb. On Friday, at 2:00 o'clock, another funeral service was held at the Stanfield Church, by Rev. Thompson of Clarkton with interment in the Stanfield cemetery. Graig service. The large crowd that assembled bespoke of the high esteem in which he was held. Pall bearers were; E B McPhalin, Virgil Pool, Wayne Overall, Lowell Waltrip, Huston Champ and Ernest Moore. Flower girls, Wanda Lee Tomlinson, Rocena Lacy, Elaine Norris, Joyce Lacy, Lola Froman, Freeda Key and Eleanor Hendrick. The deceased was the son of Jacob and Mary Lacy, deceased. He was born near Lowndes, Mo., September 20, 1903 and died June 1st 1939 at the Naval hospital, San Diego, California. He spent 14 years in naval service, where he worked himself up to chief water tender, joining the US Navy January 1925 at Flint, Mich., where he had made his home with Mrs. Lottie Froman, an older sister. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Lacy of San Diego, three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Froman of DeWitt Ark., Mrs. WE Tomlinson, HOlcomb and Mrs. Lola O'Bryan, Flint, Michigan; five brothers, Oscar Lacy, of Malden, Elbert Lacy, Clarkton, Thomas Lacy, Holcomb, Walter Lacy, Cap Girardeau and Willie Lacy, Hunter, Ark.
