Marriage is intended Between Ebenezer Cheney Jun'r of Warwick & Anna Nelson of Milford in the County of Worcester December ye 11th 1784.
[Note: Allred, p. 56, 127, gives the wife's name as Hannah Nason. The maiden name is smudged though readable as Nelson, and the given name is unmistakenly Anna, not Hannah. Since she does not identify this "Hannah Nason", reporting Anna as Hannah seems gratuitous. Possibly this was a reflection of her erroneously assigning a single daughter Hannah Plimpton Cheney to this couple (based on gravestone). (The alleged daughter Hannah was born 1813 - 28 years after the marriage! - and based on her name, probably the daughter of Ebenezer Cheney and Hannah Plimpton who m. 1806 in Medfield.) Source:Pope, Charles Henry. Cheney Genealogy, p. 118, says Ebenezer [#103] m. (1) 17 Feb 1785 Anna Nelson, m. (2) (int.) Warwick 11 Dec 1784 Anna Noyes, an obviously impossible arrangement, also caused by misreading the intention (mistaking the tail of the f-type colonial s as the tail of a y).]
