Distinguishing Editions

This edition is subtitled "A genealogical history of Edward Spalding of Virginia and Massachusetts Bay and his descendants, with a record of their military service in the colonial, Revolutionary and Civil wars, together with information concerning other branches of the Spalding family." It is a revision of an earlier book with a similar title.

The earlier (1872) edition of this book can be found at Spaulding Memorial (1872). Its subtitle is "A genealogical history of Edward Spalding of Massachusetts Bay and his descendants."
