"This is the second volume in the series of manuscripts on Nottoway history to be published by the Nottoway County Historical Associa- tion." Pages 60-107 contain reprint edition of: Historical sketch of the Nottoway Grays, afterwards Company G, Eighteenth Virginia Regiment, Army of Northern Virginia; prepared at the request of the surviving members of the Company at their first re-union at Bellefont Church, July 21, 1877 / by Richard Irby, Captain of the Company, 1862-63. -- Richmond : J. W. Fergusson & Son, 1878. Includes "condensed roll of Company G, 18th Virginia Regiment, A.N.Va." Richard Irby (1824-1902) married Frances Virginia Fitzgerald in 1846, and served in the Confederate forces during the Civil War.
