An extraordinary brick of a book, Goodspeed Publishing's 1888 history provides the history of the region followed by an exhaustive Biographical Appendix. Thus, this book preserves both local history and personal/family biography. The History section begins with the Mound Builders and is 587 pp. The Biographical Appendix is 628 pp. There are about 30 illustrations, largely portraits. About This Edition: This is an attractive and well-produced facsimile reprint. Cloth over boards with gold details; sturdy sewn binding. Most helpful is the added Name Index which is over 80 pages long.
