Henry Farwell (ca. 1605-1670) son of William Farwell, married Olive Welby, daughter of Richard and Frances Buckley Welby, at Boston, England, in 1629. The had six children, 1630-ca. 1645. The family immigrated to New England ca. 1636; settled first at Concord, Massachusetts; and moved to Chelmsford, Massachusetts, ca. 1655. He died at Chelmsford. Descendants lived in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Illinois, and elsewhere.

Samuel Farwell and his wife, Mary, were living at Marblehead, Massachusetts, by 1741. They were the parents of seven children, born in England and at Marblehead. Their son, John Farwell (1739- 1820), married Sara Pickett, daughter of Nicholas and Sarah Edgecombe Pickett, in 1765. They had nine children. The family migrated to Packersfield, New Hampshire, 1772. He died at Nelson, New Hampshire. Descendants listed lived in New Hampshire, Maine, Illinois, and elsewhere.
