James Wickham was born at Cutchogue, New York, the son of William Wickham (1819-1881) and Sarah Elizabeth Havens Wickham (1828-1913). He married Cora Prudence Billard in 1905 at Brooklyn, New York. They had three sons, 1906-1910. He died in 1914 at Cutchogue. Cora Prudence Billard was born in 1905 at Southold, Long Island, the daughter of Isaac Henry Billard (1848-1894) and Minerva Pettiner Billard (b. 1849). After the death of James Wickham, she married 2) Robert Pelton Sibley, and was living at Ithaca, New York, in 1935.
Ancestors include: Thomas Wickham (d. 1682) of Wethersfield, Connecticut; Samuel Billard (d. 1750) of Southold, Long Island; Thomas Goldsmith (d. 1706) of Southold, Long Island; John Goldsmith (d. 1703) of Southold, Long Island; and John Stevens Pettiner (d. ca. 1857) of Derbyshire, England, and Kingston, New York.
