Discussion
Records of Southwest Virginia show several lines of Houston's in the area, at least briefly. Some have speculated that they are all related. This may be true, but evidence for that, based on original sources, is wanting.
Houston's, Huston's, and Hueston's
| Group | Person | Note
| Mill Creek Hundred Houston's | Person:William Houston (21) | William settled at Houston's Fort near Snowflake, Virginia, during the early settlement period in southwest Virginia. He is believed to be a kinsman of John Walker IV of the Wigton Walker line, who settled nearby, and of his father John Walker III who married Ann Houston. How Ann and William are related is not clear. Ann is known to be the child of Christopher Huston of Mill Creek Hundred, and William is presumed be related in someway to him. There are also records for a William Houston in other portions of SW VA during the Tapestry Period. These records may be for the same, or a different individual.
