Terrington is a large village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the Howardian Hills, 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Malton.

Terrington parish includes the hamlets of Ganthorpe, Mowthorpe and Wiganthorpe. Ganthorpe is located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) southeast from Terrington, and Wiganthorpe is the same distance northeast. Mowthorpe was not found on Google Earth.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Terrington was located in Malton Rural District. Historically, it was an ecclesiastical parish in the Bulmer Wapentake.
