Eye and Dunsden is a largely rural civil parish in the most southern part of the English county of Oxfordshire. Before it became a civil parish in 1866 it was considered to be a "parochial liberty" within the parish of Sonning. In 1952 the name of the parish was changed to Sonning Common. It is also found by that name on some older maps.

It includes the villages of Sonning Eye, Dunsden Green and Playhatch and borders on the River Thames with the village of Sonning in Berkshire connected via Sonning Bridge just over the river to the south. Before 1866, Eye and Dunsden was part of the trans-county parish of Sonning.

To the west, it abuts the suburb of Caversham in the growing Berkshire town of Reading. To the east lies the Oxfordshire parish of Shiplake. Sonning Common and the relatively newly created parish of Binfield Heath lie to the north. Sonning Common is within the parish; Binfield Heath is on the border with Shiplake.

• The parish of Eye and Dunsden was not covered in the Victoria County History of Oxfordshire as provided online in early 2016. Volume 16 is a recent volume and deals with the Henley vicinity rather than the whole of the Binfield Hundred. Earlier volumes in the series covered the county under the historical divisions of "hundreds". It is planned to deal with the missing parishes in a later volume.
