Wrong Family? [15 April 2022]
No son Thomas is listed in this family in Source:United States, Massachusetts, Middlesex, Woburn. Records of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, 1640-1900, nor is any Thomas listed in this family in Source:The history of Woburn, Middlesex County, Mass. : from the grant of its territory to Charlestown, in 1640, to the year 1860. The source listed is a rootsweb family tree which passes the buck to a non-existant webpage [www.my-ged.com/db/page/dodge/3966] which appears to simply be a GEDCOM anyway. To include this Thomas in this family works, but it is a tight fit. Some evidence is really needed to justify his inclusion in this family as there were several Green families in the area. --Jrich 18:54, 27 May 2009 (EDT)
- Thanks for pointing this out. I did some further digging and as far as I can tell, they all point back to an LDS ancestral file.
- I did find a "close" possibility-- there was a Thomas Green born in 1702 in Malden, son of Thoma sand Hannah Green, but he's more likely to be the Thomas Green who marries in Malden 13 Jan 1725/6 Martha Lynde. (Malden records as transcribed in the NEHG Register.)

- Mary Lovering Holman and Winifred Lovering Holman, in each volume of Stevens-Miller, assign Thomas Green to parents William2 and Hannah (Kendall) Green. However, in neither instance do the compliers cite evidence directly connecting this Thomas Green to those parents.--jaques1724 04:35, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
- Among other things the death date of the father appears wrong. According to Holman, after 1726 probably Mendon. No probate found for that William, but William of Woburn had probate opened Apr 1718 naming wife Mary, only son William, daughters Mary, Abigail and Deborah. The inventory was taken 28 Nov 1717 so recorded death date 1 Dec 1717 is questionable. Doesn't help with Thomas. --Jrich 06:19, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
