The given date of birth is not logical given the date of marriage. The alternate date is much better. The data is too early to check in online databases. Hampsfeld does not appear on our list of places in Lancashire. Our places are basically parishes with churches and later civil parishes where records of births, marriages and deaths are held. Please go back to your original sources and amend your record accordingly.

Resolved. Alt birth was appropriate, except that it was his christening date. Place is Cartmel, which is currently in Cumbria but was part of Lancashire at the time. Hampsfield is likely the name of his home.--DataAnalyst 19:31, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
