- William Tyree of Amherst County m. 1785 Frances McDaniel with George McDaniel as
bondsman; family head in 1787 census along with bro. Jacob, Jr. b. 1768 and father Jacob. August 27, 1801 James Gatewood and w. Frances, now of Fayette Co., sold land in Amherst Co. to James R. Penn of Bedford Co; the Amherst Co., land was on the south side of Berry's Mt., bounded by land of Messers Robertson, Spencer, Lane, Thomas Wilsher and William Tyree (suspect this is the William referred to because this family's Sarah married Joseph Wilsher). Aug. 26, 1806, Jacob Tyree sold to Seaton M.
