(Research):Please see Henrico County, VA Record Book 1688-1701, page 41;Richard Parker on 1 April 1689 gave with affection to "John Cannon (Jr) the son of John Cannon and Esther his wife one cow calf". I can't establish a relationship between the Cannon and Parker familes, but it is possible that John was married to daughter of Richard Parker before he married Ester/Hester Pledge. My big problem is to determine if John Cannon was the son of John Canon (Cannon) who arrived on board the "Abagail" in 1622 and settled in Charles City, County. John Canon wa 18 at the time. Aug. 1747 on Motion of Isaac Bates, Gentleman for the administration of the estatea of Wm. Cannon deceased ( it was ordered John Cannon heir at law and theodirck Webb be severally summoned to next court to show cause if any why the said admin. should notbe granted as aforesd to the sd. Isaac Bates.

On Aug. 11, 1747 "On petition of John Cannon who made Oth according to Law certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of admin. of Est of Wm. Cannon deceased, giving security and on which he together with James Nevels & Wm. Cabell, Gent. his security enter into and acknowleged Bond" James Nevels, Sam. Jordan, John Cobbs and James Daniel, Gent were to make the appraisal of the slaves and personal Est. Inventory presented at Nov.
