    Velma Faye (Keal) Rapp Jones passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006.

    She was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 18, 1914, and graduated from Northeast High School in 1931. She was a longtime resident of Independence, Mo., and was an active member of the Unity School of Christianity of Kansas City and Unity Village, the Independence chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and Missouri Girls' State. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kenneth Rapp, in 1967, and Eli C. Jones, in 1992.

    She is survived by her children, Shirley C. Rapp of Seattle, Wash., Martha Rapp Ruddell Marker and husband, Perry Marker, of Bodega Bay, Calif., and Fred I. Rapp and wife, Sharon K. Rapp, of Independence; her grandchildren, John Haggard, Amy Ruddell Gault and husband, Paul, Rob Ruddell and wife, Diane, Kenneth Taylor, Martin Taylor and wife, Michelle, Jim Rapp and wife, Melissa, and Rhia Rapp; a sister-in-law, Janice Keal; two nephews, Jay Keal and Jeff Keal; a niece, Peggy Burnett; and 12 great-grandchildren.
