BATEMAN, Ursula Erika - Age 88, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at People Care (Tavistock) on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Born in Lautenthal, Germany daughter of the late Herman and Else (Bergner) Gerngross. Predeceased by her loving husband George Bateman on November 1, 2008. Survived by her children; Martha Gerngross, Burkhart Bateman, Ben Bateman, Marjorie Shier, Rose Ballantyne (Keith), Denise Crosby (John), Pat Illman (Walter) and George Bateman (Tammy). Ursula will be sadly missed by her 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Joan Bateman, Marjorie Struthers and Doris McNeilly along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Ursula was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Iris Bateman, sisters-in-law Helen Coglin, Jean Dragomatz, Margaret Bateman, brothers-in-laws John Coglin, Jim Struthers, Pete Dragomatz, Robert Bateman, Donald Bateman, Melvin Hanna and Bill McNeilly and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Cecil Bateman and Mary Ames. In keeping with Ursula’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel, Ontario.
