York Davis and Unknown: Family History

York Davis was the father of Lula Davis, who married Ezekiel Bennett. Ezekiel's father Adam Bennett was formerly enslaved on Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina.

We do not yet know the name of York's first wife, who was Lula and Samuel's mother.

On the 1910 Census, York is married to Hester. Lula and her brother Samuel are in the household, as are Hester's three children named Florence, William and Charles Sheppard. Their household members were:
