  2.   Note: there is a Timothy Fay Hastings in Boylston who is of a similar age to the son Timothy and died at a similar time to the father Timothy, so tends to show up in searches for this Timothy, but is a different and apparently unrelated person. The following deeds belong to this Timothy Hastings. The first one shows he probably came from Brookline.

    Vol. 73, p. 119 23 Apr 1765: Ephraim Bacon of Rutland District late of Newton Husbandman [and Mary wife of ye within named Ephraim Bacon] In Consideration of a Quitclaim Deed by Timothy Hasten of Brookline Husbandman of southerly half of farm in said District Northwest Quarter First Ministers Farm of 271 acres which Farm I said Bacon & the said Hasten did jointly purchase of the Rev'd Mr Thomas French give quitclaim to Timothy Hasten the northerly half. Acknowledged 21 Jul 1774.

    Vol. 80, p. 48 12 Jan 1778: Dan Haws Benjamin Lee & Andrew Parker all of Barre Gentlemen appointed a Committee for & in behalf of s'd Town to make sale of the lands in s'd Town Commonly Called the Meeting House square for £6-15-0 by Timothy Hasten of ye above s'd Town Yeoman a Tract in Barre part of land known by the Name of six rod road that leads from Oakham Line through Barre to Petersham adjoining the s'd Hastings [Mr] Laylans corner to Whiteing [earlier Josiah Whitney].
