Hall (PHHGENE@@aol.com) Date: Sat, Mar 15 1997 Ann (Rhea) Turk and her husband, Thomas Turk Jr., moved to Tennessee and were living in Blount County when he died in 1833. What became of Ann and her children, James Turk, Robert Turk, Archibald Rhea Turk, Elizabeth Turk, Margaret Turk, William Turk, Hiram Turk, Sally Turk, and Thomas Turk.
NOVEMBER, 1772. Turk vs. Turk.--James and Thomas Turk were brothers, April 3, 1772. Debt on account during 1764-65, to 1771. James Turk's wife was Mary, and they had a daughter, Elizabeth. Robert Turk deposes, 15th April, 1772. James Turk paid out #10 for Elizabeth Finley's education in Carolina. Thomas paid Henry Foster, husband of Elizabeth Finley, #40 out of his father's estate. AUGUST, 1773 (A). Thomas Turk vs. James Turk.--Case writ, 22d August, 1772. Deed by Thomas Turk, 7th April, 1758, apprenticing his daughter, Elizabeth Turk, to James Turk. Elizabeth is aged 5 years and 2 months. AUGUSTA COUNTY COURT RECORDS. ORDER BOOK No. XVIII JULY 20, 1784. (261) Thomas Turk, Jr., is ordered to deliver the books of said Brooks to the Sheriff. MAY, 1792 (N to Z). Thomas Turk, Jr., son of Thomas Turk, Sr., vs. Thomas Turk, Sr.-- Son vs. Father. Chancery. (Executed bond to.) In 1712 (s/b 1772) Thomas, Sr., deeded land to Thomas, Jr., condition, love and affection. Thomas, Jr., married Anne Rhea. Thomas was seventeen years old in 1772. ORDER BOOK No. XXII MARCH 25, 1793. 258) Thomas Turk, Jr., James Frazer, James Crawford, John Erwin and William Bell as Captains in 1st Battalion--recommended. JUNE 18, 1793 (294) The persons recommended on pages 258 and 259, supra, as military officers, qualified as follows: Andrew Anderson, John Campbell, Thomas Turk, Jr., Robert Gratton.
