Advisory on Thomas Hall of Augusta County

There has been confusion surrounding this Thomas Hall. Some sources, including DAR Lineage books claim that this Thomas Hall was born in 1759 in Prince William County, Virginia, married Nancy Ann Bartlett, widow of Christopher Chinn, and died in 1836 in Montgomery County, Kentucky.[2] [3] Based upon a thorough look at the sources, this appears to be a DIFFERENT Thomas Hall, brother of Edward Hall of Prince William County, Virginia.

This Thomas Hall, son of Edward Hall, was born on 31 August 1754 in Augusta County (his father Edward was clearly in Augusta County at that time), Chalkley's records show that he did qualify as an attorney in 1784, and apparently migrated to Kentucky, but do not show any apparent connection to DAR patriot Thomas Hall that died in Montgomery County, Kentucky, nor do they mention the name(s) of any spouse(s) or children.
