Acquisition of Land from Chalkley's:

  • Page 30.--16th November, 1773. Thomas Stevenson and Elizabeth to Thomas Dixon, 330 acres patented to Robert Stevenson, 16th August, 1756, and devised to his son Thomas. Teste: Thomas Stevenson.
  • Page 274.--7th February, 1776. Privy examination of Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Stephenson. Deed to Thomas Dixon.

Disposition of Land from Chalkley's:

  • Page 440.--18th March, 1770. Thomas Dixon and Elizabeth ( ) to John Lowry 330 acres patented to Robert Stevenson 16th August, 1766 and by his will devised to son Thomas Stevenson

Jane Patterson's will, formerly wife of John Patterson--To son, William Patterson; to son, James Patterson's son John; to daughter, Elizabeth; to daughter, Mary; to son, Robert's daughter Jean; to son, James' daughter Jean; to daughter, Janet. Son-in-law Thomas Dixon and son James to make division. Executors, son James and son-in-law Thomas Dixon. Teste: James Gambel, Robert Gambel. Proved, 19th May, 1772, by the witnesses. Thos. Dixon refuses to execute. James qualifies (his mark) with Thomas Patterson, Alex. Thompson.

(note: this record states that it was from 1756 in Chalkley's, but it appears with several other records that were clearly in 1776, which this record was also probably dated.)
