PALIN. Shirley (Wardwell) Palin, 75, of Morningside Drive East, Bristol, widow of Andrew J. Palin, died Friday (Aug. 8, 1997) at Bristol Hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1922 in Marblehead, MA, daughter of the late Edwin and Marion (Dougherty) Wardwell. Mrs. Palin was raised in East Hartford where she attended local schools, later moving to Bristol. She was employed by the Southern New England Telephone Co. for many years until her retirement in 1980. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Janice Palin of Bristol; two daughters and a son-in-law; Andrea Lozier of Bristol, Therese and David Stark of Bristol; one brother, Edwin Wardwell, III of Niantic; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many friends from Hummingbird Hill. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 8 pm. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2- 4 and 6-8 p.m. (prior to the service). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the White Memorial Foundation, P.O.
