Disputed lineage

Ms. Lou Hudson Pellican of St. Louis, Missouri claims that Sarah was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Fowler) Erwin in an article quoted on page Family talk:Edward Erwin and Mary Curry (1). The quotation provides no evidence or argument (as it does for other children of Edward Erwin), but mentions that extensive research has been conducted. (The original article no longer exists at the link provided.)

William Phipps and Sarah named one of their sons Edward Erwin Phipps, and Edward Erwin (who married Mary Fowler) also died in Hawkins County, Tennessee. This supports Ms. Pellican's claim.

A lineage from Daughters of the American Revolution, claims that Sarah was the daughter of Robert and Emily (Alexander) Irwin.[1]

More research (or reviewing Ms. Pellican's and her distant cousin's research) might be necessary to prove Sarah's parentage.
