Hi Juanita, Some of your information is correct. Sarah was born Sarah Elizabeth Barker, to parents Hardin Barker and Frances Blevins, on July 18, 1857 in Little Fork, Lawrence County, Kentucky. You can find her birth record online at the Lawrence County site. She was their firstborn. The family story is that she went by the last name of Blevins, her mother's surname, which is supported by the fact that her death certificate, signed by one of her daughters showed her parents were "Blevins" with first names listed as "don't know". Some of Hardin and Frances' children went by Blevins, and some by Barker. I can go into a long story on this subject, but I won't post it here, so anyone can e-mail me and I'll pass it on. Her husband was indeed the son of James Henry "Goins" Boggs and Matilda Lyons, named Henderson. He had a nickname of Colonel that most folks called him. He's the only one with this nickname that I know of. I'd be interested in seeing how you are connected to Sarah. Do you know of any pictures of her and/or Henderson?
