Ricky's obituary reads, "RICKY L. OBERLEY, 49, of rural New Haven, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at his residence, he had been ill since July. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a graduate of Heritage High School Class of 1972 and he attended Ivy Tech for two years, Fort Wayne. He married Stephanie I. Rhoades on Oct. 2, 1982 at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church. He was a wonderful, loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid Nascar fan and greatly enjoyed snowmobiling and boating. He had a great passion for automobiles. From 1981 to present he was self-employed at R. T. Automotive, a classic car restoration shop, Zulu. He also worked at International Harvester from 1973 to 1981. He was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven, Sons of the Legion Post 330, New Haven and Eagles Lodge 3164, New Haven. Surviving are his wife Stephanie I. (Rhoades) Oberley; brother, Ronald G. Oberley of New Haven; sister, Mrs. James (Rita M.) Hakes of Monroeville; parents, Harold A. and Mary Ellen Oberley of Monroeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy and Roger Oberley. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven, with Father Steve Colchin officiating, with visitation 10 a.m. until time of service. Visitation also from 1 to and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, with vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Burial at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Cemetery.
