THIS MONUMENT / erected to the memory of / RICHARD NORRIS, / who was born in the County of Lancaster / on the 6th day of March 1765 / and died in the County of Culpeper / on the 29th day of September 1833 / in the 67th year of his age / He was polite, kind, and gentle in his manner / sincere in his friendship and hospitable to his acquaintances. / His family and his friends bewail his departure / and all who knew him bear testimony to his worth.
