Facts and Events
According to later censuses Richard Morland the son married at Leeds in 1814 and his son William was born there in 1815 so it is possible he worked at Leeds before returning to Kirkby Malzeard, perhaps to take over from his father who is said to have died in 1826. He would be the man who supplied a new movement for Bedale church clock in 1840. By the time of the 1851 census he was in business at Boroughbridge but in 1861 he was in the workhouse at Ripon. He died at Masham in 1878. References
