After the war he was posted to Germany where he met his wife. They married in 1948 at Lynchmere Church and set up home in Marley Combe Road, Camelsdale.
Reg joined his brother Harry in the family business Gales Garage, but from 1958 they parted company as he wanted to build up the coachind side of the business.
Originally he did all the driving himself but as the business expanded additional staff had to be recruited. Retirement was difficult for Reg as he was so popular .
In 1964 Reg realised his ambition by taking his first continental trip to Holland. It soon snowballed in respnse to local demand. He was never happier than when he was behind the wheel of a coach or car.
Reg is suvived by his wife Mia, daughter Rosemary, son-in-law John, son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Debbie and grand-daughter Emma.
