[edit] ObituaryPhilip H. Coolbaugh, 71, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Ohio State University Medical Center. He was born August 11, 1941, in Towanda, PA, the son of the late Roy and Frances (Walker) Coolbaugh. Philip was a 1959 graduate of Urbana High School and proudly served our country in the United States Army. He worked at the Urbana Daily Citizen for 25 years, and retired from Honda Manufacturing after 20 years. Philip enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren, along with shopping in Berlin with his wife. He is survivied by his wife of 50 years, Sandy (Middleton) Coolbaugh; his daughter, Shelly (David) Pfaub of Columbus; his grandchildren, Alexis Nicole and Alyssa Dawn Pfaub, both of Columbus; his sisters, Joy (Frank) Thomas of Urbana and Mary Jean Lockamy of North Carolina; and his nephew, Bob Kennedy of Columbus. Philip is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Rheta Kabbaz and Bonnie Coolbaugh; and his brothers, Dick, Bob, and Pete Coolbaugh. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the Skillman, McDonald, & Vernon Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 12, 2013 in the funeral home with Pastor Harley Roston officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsburg Methodist Church, 42 N. Main St., Mechanicsburg, OH 43044. |
