An abstract of Peter Hoggins' will (28 June 1775) in the "Maryland Calendar of Wills 1774-1777" (Vol 16, 1995) bequeathes ..."To wife, Elizabeth Hoggins, dwelling plantation and Negro girl Phillis during life... To son Richard Hoggins, ex., 1/2 of personal estate and to pay 1000 pounds tobacco to his mother for life...To son Peter Hoggins, other half of personal estate, tract of land where he now lives (unnamed) and to pay 1000 pounds tobacco to his mother during her life"
