Son of a farmer, Peter grew up farming and at 21, joined the RIC on 01/06/1891. His service number was 55044. He served in Co Kilkenny, 06/05/1892, Co Fermanagh, 20/05/1899, Co Kilkenny, 21/12/1900, Co Tipperary (North Riding), 01/11/1905, where he served until he retired on 01/06/1917, with a pension of 38 Pounds, 10 Shillings per annum. Peter married Elizabeth WESTERMAN on 19/09/1905, and after this his service appears to have suffered with a number of disciplinary fines. The marriage certificate lists his address as Cuffs Grange, presumably where he was stationed near Thomastown? After retiring, he lived with his wife in Pipe Street, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny until his death at 75, in 1948 caused by carcinoma gastric.
