m. 1836
Facts and Events
Her name is spelled TERNETY/wife of Blake Mauldin in a cemetery book ("Cemetery & Bible Records - a Publication of MS Genealogy Society Vol. 7 1960), which includes her burial location. Her name was spelled Pernetta on the census. Family history gives her name as "Neally", so her actual name, while unknown for certain, could have been Pernelly. As to her maiden name - it is still unknown, as of Nov. 2007. One researcher, who offered no proof or sources, wrote that she was a LYONS. A tree at Ancestry.com by David M. Raper (2005) has her listed as "Parnella HARVEY" (no sources listed). 5/21/1824 - John Lyon "of St. Clair Co., AL" purchased 80.26 land patent, Cert. #3285, cash entry, in St. Clair Co., AL: E½NW 9/ 15-S 3-E in the Huntsville meridian, as did Joshua Lyon "of St. Clair Co., AL": 80.26, dated 5/21/1824 from the Tuscaloosa Land Office: W½SW 9/ 15-S 3-E Huntsville AL St. Clair. This land was very near to the land Rebecca McAdams Mauldin purchased in 1838. On the 1830 St. Clair Co., AL census (Pernetta would be about 16 yrs old in 1830): Lyons, John p. 238 - 1m30/40; 1f10/15, 1f15/20, 1f40/50 |
