Funeral services for Mrs. Elmo (Nella Holley) Burke, 115 S. Independence, [Sapulpa, Creek, OK]will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in South Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. T. Howard Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens under direction of Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Burke was born Oct. 4, 1908 in [Van Buren County] Arkansas and had lived here most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been employed as a hairdresser. She was past president of the Carpenters Auxiliary, member of Pythian Sisters, past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge, past Chief Matriarch in the Encampment and past president of the Canton. Surviving are her husband, Elmo, of the home; two sons, Elmo Burke, Jr. of Terlton and E.H. "Butch" Burke of Sapulpa; one daughter, Betty Rush of Sapulpa; two brothers, V.R. Hughes of Sapulpa and William E. Hughes of California; three sisters, Vera Bauer of St. Cloud, Minn., Della Smith of Corpus Christi, Tex. and Colleen Shouse of California; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Note: She was the daughter of William Alonzo Holley and Sarah Hannah Elizabeth Brock.
