She is the granddaughter of Johannes Adam Biffle (Buffel) and Catherine Henckel, two early pioneers of Weaverville, Buncombe, NC. Adam was from Contwig, Sudwestpfalz, Germany. Catherine's father was from Mosbach, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. (Dedman Institute)
