    [Ed. note: "sic". One would be tempted to interpret 1703/2 as 1702/3, but that would put Mercy's birth only 6.5 months after Benjamin. Given the odd syntax of the double dating, it is likely that this date was meant to be 7 Feb 1703/4. Then there would be no conflict with either Benjamin nor with the following birth of Thomas in April 1705. Not only can you not use 1702/03 without causing a conflict with Benjamin, you cannot use 1701/02 for the same reason.]
