"Boggs Township lost one of its oldest residents in the death of Mrs. Mary Eckley, widow of Joseph Eckley, she having died on the 18th inst., in Elk County, where she moved a short time ago to live with her son Joseph. Her health had usually been remarkably good, but recently she became afflicted with dropsy, but apoplexy was the immediate cause of her death in the 74th year of her age. She was one of twenty children of old Mr. Watson she having had four full brothers and fifteen half brothers and sisters, eight of whom survive her. She was the mother of six children, of whom Thomas, William, and Joseph are living, the rest being dead. In her early married life she became a member of the Marsh Creek Messiah's church, in which faith she continued till death. Her remains were brought from Elk County to Milesburg for interment.
