- ↑ Erma Barker says Grandma Miller lived in a two room house. Used a washboard to clean clothes for richer people. Her house had three rooms on Floyd Street down the street from Mom Farnsley and Aunt Mae. Erma was less than school age when she died. As special treat for Erma she bought watermelon for 10 cents. She lived with 'mom Farnsley' until she died. Her legs were swollen and broke from dropsy.
