_DCAUSE: Complications of gall stones

Mary McClure married Dolph Conley after he boarded at her home while employed as a logger. She was married at age 18 and they lived in her parent's home until after her first son, George, was born in 1911. After moving to Morgantown, she took an active roll in the Farm Women's Club and was a proficient seamstress. She loved music and dancing, and was able to play 'by ear' almost any instrument that had keys or strings. Her life with 5 men must have been a challenge! When she made grape juice, they pulled off the rubber rings so it would ferment. If she kept whiskey around for medicinal purposes, it disappeared. However, this didn't occur after she transferred it to a Lydia E. Pinkham bottle! She fought a long battle with illness related to gall stones and died in 1948.
