Mary Ann Harry was baptised on 2nd March 1851 at Bere Ferrers in Devon. She was the first child of Jane Harry, formerly Drake, and her husband William Richard Harry, a shipwright. Her parents had married the previous year in Plymouth. Mary Ann appears in the 1851 census as a one month old baby living with her mother and maternal grandfather, John Drake.

Sadly, Mary Ann died when she was about fourteen months old, being buried at Bere Ferrers on 2nd May 1852.

A year after Mary Ann's death, William and Jane's second child was born, whom they also called Mary Ann.
