"On Sunday morning occured the death of Mrs. Stella Richards, wife of Edward Richards. Deceased was sick only a short time, with appendicitis. She was aged 25 years and 9 months and is survived by her husband and one child, aged 14 months. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 1 o'clock, with interment at Rippletown." - The Wilkes-Barre Record Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1901

The age given in the obituary corresponds to the year (1876) given in the Edward and Estella marriage license. This year differs from the age year (1874) given in the 1900 census. The 1874 date matches with Mary E. Eckley, daughter of Joseph A. Eckley, Milesburg, PA.

This 1874 date is used based on her brother Joseph's birthdate in Mar 1877 on his WWI draft registration. The November 1876 date would be impossible with her brother born in March 1877.
