Marvin Jackson Burris age 80, son of Frank and Esther (Wills) Burris was born Aug. 26, 1929 in Success, MO. He passed away January 5, 2010 at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, MO.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Esther Burris of Houston, MO.
He is survived by his wife Irene Burris of Houston, MO; Daughter Debbie (Burris) Richards and son in law Sam Richards and one granddaughter Shelby of Fenton, MO; one brother Melvin Burris and sister in law Ruth of Temple, TX, two sisters Marlene (Burris) Hubbs and brother in law Don of Houston, MO and Mildred (Burris) Mitchell of Houston, MO, several nieces and nephews.
Marvin grew up in the Success area and attended Gladden Grade School and Houston High School. He was saved as a young man at Gladden Baptist Church in Success. He enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1951 and was discharged in 1953.
He was married on April 16, 1955 in Jackson, MS to Kathern Irene Salyer.
Marvin enjoyed music, singing, dancing, camping and gatherings with family and friends. He was always looking for ways to help family and friends.
Marvin was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
