She came in the Defense with her brother aged 21 [Hotten 100]. … Anno 1655 In the beginning of the 5th month God sent an epidemical sickness & faintness. Few escaped, many were very sick, several died, as Elisabeth Bowles &c. in our town, Mr. Rogers of Ipswich the Revd. Pastor there, Mr. Samuel Eaton at New Haven & his wife [late Mrs. Haines]" (Eliot 197].
