RAPIDS - Louise Markwardt, 90, formerly of 1200 Huntington Ave., died at 9 P.M. Tuesday, August 17, 1993, at Riverview Manor nursing home, where she had lived for six months. Memorial services will be at a later date at United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Almond Village Cemetery. The body will be cremated. Mrs. Markwardt was born March 5, 1903, in Iola, to Charles and Mae Imig. She married Henry Markwardt May 20, 1978, in Neillsville. He died July 5, 1981. She was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Wood County Normal School and Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point. She was an elementary teacher in the area for 14 years, retiring in 1968. Mrs. Markwardt was a member of Ahdawagam Chapter of Disabled American Veterans (should be Ahdawagam Chapter of the Daughter of the Revolution), Riverview Hospital Auxiliary, Wood County Association of Mental Health, National Retired Teachers Association, American Association of retired Persons and Riverside Rebekah Lodge 12. Survivors include one son, Robert Olson Andrews, Stevens Point; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by one son and one brother. There will be no visitation.
